What you can expect on the Surgery day
Upon
entering our comfortable reception area, you will be greeted
by our receptionists. Registration information will be requested
and you can help yourself at our refreshments area for a beverage, cookies,
and
crackers.

One of our ophthalmic technicians will escort you into
the measurements room where several painless tests will
be performed in order
to thoroughly confirm your candidacy. You will then be brought
into an examining room where one of the center's doctors
will examine your eyes, answer your questions and
go over
the procedure.

This is the Pre and Post-op room, where you will be escorted
to immediately before and after your laser refractive surgery.
Your eyelids
will be cleaned and anesthetic
drops will be placed in your eyes, before you enter the
laser room.
Once you have been prepped for surgery and have had Ativan,
an anti-anxiety pill, you
will be escorted to the laser room where Dr. Pardos
or Dr. Wang will re-examine your eyes and answer any
last minute questions you may have.
The laser room staff will take
you to the laser chair and Dr.
Pardos or Dr. Wang will then guide you through the
procedure. The only thing you will
need to do during surgery
is try your
best to look towards a blinking red light.

If you wish, while you are in the laser room, your family
is invited to view the procedure from our dedicated viewing
area just outside the laser room. Whoever wishes to observe
will be able to see the surgery on a tv screen from the
perspective of
the surgeon.
Upon the completion of surgery, you will again be escorted
back into the post-op room and will be asked to close your eyes
for 20 minutes.
After the 20 min period, you will be examined again prior
to being discharged from the center
This completes your surgery experience at our center.
